SOC supports 17 children with HIV, fifteen children live at the Centre and two children live in the community. Ideally we would like all children to live with their families but this cannot be due to various reasons, Some children were abandoned with no record of their family, Some children are not wanted by their immediate or extended family due to fear and ignorance about HIV, Families have been devastated by HIV, with parents and close relatives dying from the virus or ill due to it and unable to care for the child, Some children are economic orphans, families just cannot support them, especially the additional medical care required
